So one of my best friends and favorite "makeup talk" person in the world gave me the most amazing gift ever for christmas! ;)

It was a $100 gift card for SEPHORA!!!

Anyways, so it didn't take me long to spend it haha and I ended up only getting two things but these two things were well worth it!

1. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

2. NARS Blush/Bronzer Trio

I've been eyeing out these two products for a while now. The Naked 2 palette is fairly new and basically everyone in the makeup world has been talking about it and wanting it. The NARS blush/bronzer trio has been out for a while now and every time I went to Sephora I would always go to it, swatch it and just wish that I could own it... And now I've got both :)

There were a few reasons why I chose the Naked 2 over the Naked 1 palette. I really did my research before buying it because there was a time when I really wanted the Naked 1 palette. I never ever bought the Naked 1 palette because I knew that it was permanent and that I could go back and get it whenever it was in stock (because it sold like hotcakes for a while and wasn't in stock anywhere).

Reason 1: Foxy. Blackout. Those two eyeshadows really made me want this palette. In the Naked 1 palette the main highlight color that is raved about by pretty much everyone isn't matte. While everyone loves it, I don't. I pretty much ALWAYS prefer to have a matte browbone highlight, and that's just my preference. When I saw that this one had one, I was happy :). Foxy actually ended up being the perfect subtle matte highlight for my skintone so I'm even more happy about that. Blackout is basically just a matte black, while the Naked 1 palette also lacked. I think a nice solid black is a must in any neutral palette and I'm glad that this one has it.

Reason 2: Packaging. I like how this one closes securely and not just with a magnet and I also like the packaging material. A friend of mine has the first one and said that the gold lettering was coming off of it. This palette feels like I can just throw it in my bag and it will be able to better handle being tossed around in it. I also like that this one has the dual ended brush and while I don't see myself using it all the time, it will be great for times when I forget to pack my other brushes because it has a shader brush with a blending brush on the other end.

Reason 3: In a few reviews I heard that this palette is perfect for women of color. I think because it has a darker tone to it overall? I don't know but that's what I've heard and I think I agree.

Overall, I'm glad I got this one. I think the first one is great but this one is more for me. I love how theres a mix of light and dark, shimmery and matte and the perfect browbone highlight color as well. I can't wait to play around and see how many looks I can come up with with this palette.

I've mentioned before that the NARS blush/bronzer duo has been on my wish list for a while. I actually had the mini Laguna/Orgasm duo that I got a while back. I used Laguna like crazy because I really loved how it was the perfect matte bronzer that could also double as a light contour color for me. I didn't use Orgasm as much for some reason though, and when I used it on a friend of mines once she fell in love. Even now she tells me that she loves that blush. Well I ended up giving the mini duo to her the when she first said she liked it. I figured she could get more use out of it than me, and the Laguna part was practically gone anyways. I guess that's why I've been wanting this one for a while but never got it... because I had one similar and gave it away haha.

But this ones better :) I like how the proportions of the bronzer, blush and highlighter are all different. I know I'll use more bronzer than blush and more blush than highlighter so this was perfect. I've also been dying to try out that Albatross highlighter for ages! everyone raves about it and I can see why. This one has a zipper closure so that's kinda weird but I think the material on the outside is way better than the regular NARS packaging that tends to get dirty very easily. So glad I finally have my Laguna bronzer again and this palette as a whole :)

Overall, I'm SUPER happy with both things and I'm so excited to try them out.

I haven't been makeup shopping in what feels like forever (it's only maybe been a month and a half) but here are a few new beauty goodies I've gotten over the past week...

**WnW Penny Eyeshadow**

I didn't actually buy this, it was given to me by the beautiful Kieanney... She had done a massive makeup haul a little after Thanksgiving and when I mentioned to her that I wanted this eyeshadow she went ahead and got me one too :) It's such a beautiful color and I can't wait to use it! Thanks Keeks!!!

**VS Bomshell body mist**

This is apparently the best selling perfume at Victoria's Secret (I read this on the sign directly behind the perfume) and I can see why! It only took one spray to get me hooked on to it... I didn't want to splurge on the actual perfume and while standing in line with my good friend who was actually buying something I saw the travel sized body mist and immediately grabbed it...This scent is actually what I wanted the B&BW Into the Wild to smell like... for someone reason the B&BW one falls short somewhere and this is everything I was looking for :) I'm definitely gonna go back and buy the full size!

**CO Bigelow Lemon Lip Balm**

I went to Tahiti in Nov. (that's why I was MIA) and took my favorite Neutrogena lip balm with me and ended up using it all.. I've been needing a new one and the Maybelline Baby Lips just weren't stacking up next to my Neutrogena one.... Funny thing is, I can't find the Neutrogena lip balm ANYWHERE! and it's quite annoying! I almost bought a $12 sunscreen just cause my lip balm was attached to it as an added 'bonus'... I went to B&BW and saw this lip balm and decided to grab it because I was getting two other lip products (it's buy two get one free) for a friend. This one is ok, but still nothing compares to that Neutrogena one ugh.. :( Oh well I need a lip balm for winter time so this will have to do until I find it again.. hopefully sometime soon!

**Nivea Moisturizing Creme**

This is a body creme that you can use for your hands, body and face... I took it with me when I went to tahiti and it just felt so soft and smooth on my skin.. I even got my aunty hooked and ended up leaving my tub there for here.. So while at Target the other day I decided to grab me another one.. This will be great during the winter season when my legs and arms tend to get a little drier

**Sigma Brushes: F80, P82**

These two brushes are the things I'm most excited about :) :) I have heard so many great reviews on these brushes for liquid foundation and concealer that I've been wanting these for what seems like forever... Randomly one late night while browsing online (bad idea!!) I decided to cave and just go ahead and order it. I haven't tried them out yet but I'm excited to use them to see just how well they perform and if they live up to the hype!

Nail Swatch ~ Wet n Wild Kaleidoscope

.. I love how it sparkles and shines in the light ..

Review: Maybelline Lots of Lashes and Baby Lips

I've actually been one for a while (since 2009) but never really took it seriously. Then one day I get an email asking if I wanted to join the Maybelline campaign and thought "why not?"

So I was sent the Maybelline Lots of Lashes and Baby lips to tryout.

*I was really shocked to find that they sent me 5 of each product haha..*

Lots Of Lashes

*I wrote about my mascara dilemma before and how I wanted to find a new mascara before my Dior one dries out so I don't spend a lot of money to buy another one :)

So, first of all, whenever I see this pink and green mascara I think about mascaras from my mom's era haha... I don't know how to explain it but I just do. I don't really have a nice memory about these mascaras and every time I would see it ranked as the number 1 mascara I would just laugh because today there are so many new mascaras around that there is no way that this could still be number one.

Anyways, the thing that got me when I first looked at it was the brush. It was just like the CoverGirl lashblast one where it's that plastic material and not like and actual brush brush (I suck at explaining things). They obviously changed it from the older brush and I actually prefer mascaras with this type of brush. I also liked that it was tapered because that means that it can get to the tiny hairs in the inner corner of your lashes all the way to the longer ones at outer corner. This brush also makes it amazing for layering on several coats without it getting clumpy.

The final verdict: :)

I really like this mascara. I'm shocked that I do. I never expected to like it so much and I honestly believe that it's all because of the wand. The formula is good too because it doesn't get clumpy. I usually like to layer on a good three layers and for me it seems like them more coats the more separated my lashes become, which is weird. I also really like that when I put it on my lashes are crisp but still nice and soft.

The only down side is that it's not waterproof. That's the thing that I absolutely love about my Dior mascara. That one is waterproof, smudgeproof and foolproof :). This one is still great but I'm hoping that they will come out with a waterproof version (or maybe they already have one out and I just got sent the non waterproof version... I'm gonna have to go check my local drugstores to see)

BABY Lips

I already have my favorite lip balm, it's the Neutrogena one that I'm sure I blogged about before. But I got sent these ones and I was actually running a little low on my Neutrogena one so I was excited to try them out. I have big lips and I get pretty picky about the lip balm cause my lips get pretty sensitive. I opened the purple one first and tried it out. This one has a little bit of a shimmer to it and I didn't really care for it. It didn't moisturize my lips enough. But then I tried the orange one and I really liked that one. I don't know if I like the tint that it adds to your lips because sometimes I just want a lip balm for my lips without adding color to it, and sometimes I use it as a primer under my lipstick so a tinted one my alter the color of my lipstick. No big deal tho because they have the clear ones available as well, I just didn't want to open every single one. And lastly, I just think the packaging is cute, fun and colorful. :)

So both of the products overall were really nice. I carry my Lots of Lashes in my everyday makeup bag so I leave my Dior one at home. The Lots of Lashes is around $7 depending on where you bug it which is almost 4x cheaper than my Dior one. I'll probably end up buying this mascara again.. especially if I see a waterproof version.

The lip balm was really nice as well, I'm gonna use the tinted one up before I try the clear one so hopefully the clear one is as good as the tinted one. I'm not too sure one the price range of the baby lips tho but my Neutrogena one I think is pricey for a lip balm so this one is probably cheaper.

Anyways, like I mentioned at the beginning of the post, they send me 5 of each product to try out. I gave out a couple to a few of my friends but I have one Baby Lips and Lots of Lashes for one of my subscribers if you'd like to try it out. FOTD ~ Rainbow eyeliner...

Saw this look one day online and wanted to recreate it..

I used my own colors but it's pretty much the same effect...

Rainbow colors:

red: MAC Coppering

orange: MAC Sunsplosion

yellow: MAC Flip & MAC Crest the Wave

green: MAC Bio Green

blue: MAC Freshwater

purple: MAC Nocturnelle

I also added MAC Brule as a wash of color all over and then MAC Soft Brown and MAC Cork in the crease for some slight definition.

Black liner of choice is MAC Blacktrack fluidline. I think mine is getting a little too dry so I might have to add eye drops to it (or just go buy a new one :P ).

Then my new mascara of choice is the Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes mascara.. I'm gonna have a separate post on this soon :)

Nail Swatch ~ ICING Shatter..

My sister came in my room today to give me an early birthday present :)

ICING nail polish...

...2 glow in the dark polishes and 1 shatter polish.

I feel like I'm the last person in the world to try a shatter nail polish. I saw randomly one day that my sister had a shatter nail polish on her toes and was shocked that even she tried it out before me! haha.. I guess she remembered that and picked up one for me for my birthday :)

My favorite color is orange :) and so she also got two glow in the dark nail polishes (never heard of that, but it sounded really cool!) one that is orange and another that's a super bright highlighter yellow color.

It took me all of 10 seconds before I tried them out haha (I just couldn't wait). I already had on OPI's Barefoot in Barcelona on my nails so I just painted right over them.

They both glow the same yellow which is still cool but I wish that the orange one would actually glow orange, but no big deal.

The shatter one was weird to get used to. You can't put too much or too little or else it won't "shatter" nicely. Hopefully the more I play around with it, the easier it will be. It was also cool to watch it actually shatter before your eyes. Takes a few minutes for the whole process to complete so you just have to wait, but it's about the same amount of time that it would take for regular nail polish to dry normally.

I put a top coat over it after and then took the pics. Thank you sister for giving me the opportunity to try out a shatter polish :)

HAUL ~ MASCARAS...

So I raved about my Diorshow Blackout mascara not long ago...

I loved it because..

*it was waterproof/smudgeproof

*held my curl

*made my lashes long and thick

*made people ask if I was wearing falsies :O

I was in heaven :)

BUT...

.....not long after it dried out :(

And I mean I had to scrape the barrel and all I got was a thick dried out formula!

For the price I paid for that mascara I was hoping it would last me longer than just one and half months!

I knew I needed to get a new mascara and remembered a MAC saleslady tell me that they had come out with a new mascara that would make my lashes look long and thick. I didn't want to fork out the $24 for another Dior one so I thought that I would try that one out.

So I picked up the new MAC False Lashes mascara two weeks ago..

MAC False Lashes Mascara

It was only a few bucks cheaper than the Dior one ($19) but cheaper is cheaper to me so I grabbed it anyway. It's claim to fame is all in the name, "False Lashes", and for obvious reasons I had high hopes for this mascara. I was expecting the false lashes that I get when I used the Diorshow Blackout mascara if not better. But I had nothing even close to it! :( I was sooooo disappointed with this mascara. The packaging looks kinda cool I guess but that's about it. I can't find my receipt either so I guess I'm stuck with it. I'll keep using it and then B2M it when it dries out. But i'm never buying this again!

So there I was with a dried out mascara and a crappy new one that I had to just suck it up and use everyday since I bought it and couldn't return it...

Then I see posts about the Sephora Friends and Family sale that's going on right now. You enter your email and get a code for 20% on any one purchase between certain dates.

I did the math and 20% would make my Diorshow just slightly cheaper than my MAC one and so I convinced myself that this was as good of a time as any to get my mascara again.

I ended up picking up the Diorshow Maximizer and Diorshow Blackout mascara.

I heard tons of good reviews on the Diorshow maximizer so I randomly threw it in since I wanted to get something else so I didn't have to pay for shipping. I haven't tried it much to give my opinion on it, but I will once I get to play with it more.

I'm so glad to have my Diorshow Blackout mascara back in my makeup bag. I'm even getting the girls at work to love it as much as I do :D

So I guess I have another month and a half to find me a cheaper version of this mascara..

Lightscapade MSF is the reason why I placed this online order...

It was re-released in a collection earlier this month and took the opportunity to also pick up some things I've been meaning to grab as well..

*Lightscapade MSF - Like I mentioned, this is the reason I placed the online order. It is limited edition and I wanted to grab it before I had the chance to regret it. It's such a beautiful product, which will probably end up untouched with the rest of my "too beautiful to use" limited edition MAC products. *smh*

*NC42 Prolongwear concealer - I use foundation but heard that the concealer has amazing staying power. I'm gonna try it out as a concealer but also as a foundation because I heard that quite a few people say that they actually use it as a foundation.

*Medium Dark MSFN - I used up the first one I owned but never repurchased it for some reason. I really liked it so I decided the pick it up this time.

*Moleskin and Carbonized eyeshadow - These two eyeshadows came out with the MAC Me Over collection and I've been wanting to grab them because they are just nice staple neutrals to have.

FOTD ~ Lips and Lashes...

My everyday look with a bright lippie...

I don't always wear such a bright lip, especially since I have big lips and I'm afraid it will draw too much attention to them haha...

I decided to use this bright pink MAC slimshine in Pleasing, I used to use it a lot and now I'm at the bottom of the barrel of this color.

I really like the way that it has a glossy shine to it and it's not just a matte lip color. That's actually why I fell in love with the MAC slimshines (which are now discontinued) and now the newer MAC sheen supreme lipsticks.

I mentioned before that I was really loving the new Dior Blackout waterproof mascara...

I wear it everyday and decided to takes pics and actually show just why I love this mascara (just not loving the price!)..

Nope, those are NOT false lashes, just my real lashes with the Dior Blackout mascara :)

I first curl my lashes (with my new Sephora curler) and then apply about two coats of the Dior mascara.

As you can see it does a great job and separating my lashes while giving them length and volume... and the best part is that it holds my curl too!!

Went shopping with the bestie...

Something I love to do, but my wallet hates :) haha....

**Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder Natural Beige - Introduced to me by my bestie and a long time lemming for me (meaning I've been wanting it for ages! haha). She had the Honey Beige color and I really loved the way it felt and looked on my skin. I decided to go a shade lighter because I tried it on at night and figured the lighting may have just made it look like it matched my skin but during the day time it might just be a tad too light, plus it's gonna be winter soon so I'll run a little lighter in skintone. Like I said, I loved the way it felt (super smooth and silky) on my skin and it looked as good as it felt but the best part is that it's good for your skin and supposedly helps clear it.

**NYX lip liners - I got three: Natural, Chocolate, Soft Brown. Another buy because of my bestie. I tried her Natural lipliner and really loved it. I only own a couple of MAC lipliners but I personally feel that you shouldn't have to pay $14 for a lipliner especially when you can find drugstore ones that work just as good. I opted to buy the three because they were more natural and hopefully when I do a nude lip it will help to pull it all together. I'm looking for a NYX lipliner dupe of my beloved MAC Mahogany lipliner (it creates the perfect red lip for me at work). I found a couple that were close but I have a little more time before that lipliner runs out to fully make a decision.

**Wet n Wild 2% Milk Nail Polish - I grabbed this off the shelf because it looked like it could've been a cheaper dupe for my OPI I need space nail polish but it's not... complete fail for this one because it's just too milky white for me :( (swatch at the end of the post)

**Wet n Wild Lust 6 pan palette - Just grabbed this because I heard it was getting discontinued. I had one before but gave it away and decided to get another one because I love my purples :)

**CVS Daily Facials wipes - I don't own any face wipes because I ran out and ever repurchased any. I figured I'd grab a pack just to have around when I need to fix my makeup or wipe my face down.

**Compact Powder Puffs - I saw that these were 3 for $1 so I grabbed to packets because I love using this for setting my under eye concealer. Instead of brushing the silica powder over my concealer I like to press it one with these puffs and it creates the most amazing flawless finish for my concealer.

**Ardell Demi False Lashes - These are my all time favorite false lashes because they give that nice full flared look. I wanted to grab me another pair but saw that it was on sale so I grabbed the last three that they had, haha..

**Wet n Wild 2% Milk swatch

This is three or four coats of the Wet n Wild with one coat of the OPI I need space over it because it just came out too white and streaky and nothing like I had hoped :(

HAUL ~ Rare MAC Face Palette...

I was searching on LiveJournal one day and saw this rare MAC face palette that I absolutely needed to have! :P

It's not a fake... MAC used to make face palettes like this way back in the day. I saw them when I first started getting into MAC and even then it was rare so seeing it on LJ was an amazing find for me :)

*Size comparison with regular MAC palette

The size of the palette is slightly smaller than the regular 15 pan palette by MAC. The smaller size makes it more travel friendly which is a plus. It has four blushes/bronzer and four eyeshadows. The blushes/bronzers are not the size of the regular MAC blushes but smaller. They probably are the size of the cream colour bases that they made.

*Honor, Cubic, Brule, Sketch
Harmony, Bronze, Mulch, Nehru

The colors in the palette are really what sold me on it. I own three of the eyeshadows but those three are ones that I use the most and the last one, Nehru, is one that I've always wanted but just never got. I don't own any of the cheek colors but I like how theres a bronzer and blush and a highlighter in it. Just looking at the palette as a whole I can see that I can do a complete face look without having to open another palette.

And last but not least, I also love how this palette comes with a nice big mirror on the inside. The regular MAC palettes don't come with this so this was a nice surprise..... and don't mind the early morning hash shot of me in the mirror :/

Nail Swatch ~ Sephora by OPI 'I Need Space'

I talked about this in my haul a month or so ago and just wanted to post a picture of what the nail polish looks like on my nails...

I really love the color because it's not too light but not too dark of a nude for my skin that it just blends in with my skin color. I feel like it's the perfect peachy nude for my nails. The sucky thing about this nail polish is that it takes a billion coats for it to be opaque and even then it might look streaky. If i were to repurchase this it would be purely for the color. But I've been wearing this on my nails for the last week and every time I look at my nails I really love the way they look... so i guess I just might buy another one :)

HAUL ~ MAC, Lush, Aldo Accessories

Did a little bit of hauling on my day off from work last wednesday... Nothing big but I LOVE everything I got :)

MAC

Just two things:

**Cleanse Off Oil - I use this everyday to take off my makeup. It's the only thing that will remove my pro-longwear foundation and waterproof mascaras without me having to irritate my skin. It's a must have for me and I was running low on my other one and needed a new bottle :)

**Turquatic Rollerball - I raved about how much I loved this perfume in a previous post and I've been wanting to get the rollerball version so I could carry it with me in my bag and I finally picked it up :)

LUSH

I basically picked up my staples from this store. These are things that I use on my face daily because they are the only things that I trust to work well with my skin.

**Dark Angels - A black exfoliator that leaves my oily skin feeling nice and smooth. It makes a huge mess in the shower because it's black but it does such a great job that I don't even care about the mess.

**Herbalism - This is my everyday face wash. It's perfect for my oily skin and I realize now that it also helps with my acne. I ran out about a month ago and decided not to repurchase it right away and I started breaking out :( so I'm glad that I finally got me some more and will never go without again!

ALDO ACCESSORIES

I've always heard about this store but never been. It's only at one of our malls here in Hawaii so since I was at that mall I decided to stop by and have a look. I fell in love with so many things I almost wanted to buy the whole store!! I have my eye on a bag they had but I ended up only picking up two things.

**Watch - It was on sale and it only took one look at it for me to be hooked. I kept saying "I really want this watch!" and I'm not one to wear watches. But I'm sooo glad that I did get it because I wear it all the time now. It looks kinda weird in the picture above but it wraps around your wrist to form the cutest looking watch ever!!!

**Nude Nail Polish - this was just next to the register and I'm just a sucker for nude nail polishes so I grabbed it at the last minute. I love this nude color on me and the nail polish as a whole is really nice. The drying time is quick and the quality is just amazing. Usually if I layer too much the nail polish doesn't dry properly and one little touch and my nail will have little nicks in it but not with this one. It's so good that I wanna go back and buy more colors!

I feel like I haven't hauled in a while...

So I went shopping yesterday :)

SEPHORA

*Sephora Eyelash Curler - I needed a new eyelash curler refill for my old Shu Uemura curler but i decided to just go ahead and get a whole new curler. I heard the Sephora one was similar to the Shu one so I decided to get that one. I chose the gold and black one but they also have a silver and black and a red and black one as well.

*Sephora by OPI 'I need Space' nail polish - A friend from work (Miss Kiki) bought this a week ago and when I saw it on her nails I knew I had to have it. It's a pretty light nude color.

*Dior Blackout Mascara - I needed a new mascara because my CoverGirl Lashblast was drying out and I decided the splurge and get this one. I've tried it because another friend from work (Miss Hulali) had it and I really liked the way it made my lashes look really dark black and full. It's quite pricey so I doubt I'll be buying this again.

*Sephora face brush - I saw this on youtube one day and it just so happened to catch my eye at Sephora yesterday. I heard it was a great exfoliating brush and when I touched it I realized that it was way softer than I had expected. It was only $5 so I decided to get it since I'm always looking for something to improve my skin.

*Sephora pencil sharpener - This was just $1 and I decided to grab it because it's small and I thought it would be perfect for my everyday makeup bag. It seems like I'm always without a sharpener at the moment that I need one the most.

MAC

*Outre Eyeshadow - This came out with the new MAC collection and as soon as I saw the pics online I knew I needed this color. It's a mustard brown color which is kinda similar to one of my favorite brown eyeshadows, Ochre Style.

*Tea Ceremony Sheen Supreme lipstick - This also came out with a different new MAC collection. I love the Sheen Supreme lipstick formula and my favorite all time lipstick is the Impressive Sheen Supreme lipstick. This color reminds me of MAC's Freckletone lipstick which is the only regular MAC lipstick I own. It's just another nude to add to my collection.

*Prep+Prime SPF50 - This is a staple in my everyday makeup bag. I seriously can't live without this stuff. When I realized I was running out I knew I needed to get another one. I used every last drop of my other bottle and I'm so glad I finally got another one to replace it. It's great because it has SPF 50 (and you should wear SPF everyday even if you aren't gonna be in the sun) and it primes my face giving it the illusion that my skin is nice and smooth.

WALMART

*Demi Wispies - These aren't the Ardell branded lashes that I usually buy but the lashes are pretty much the same just in a different brand. I needed a new pair of false lashes because my other ones were getting old so I grabbed this.

*Revlon lash glue - I used the use Duo glue until I heard raves about this one. Apparently you don't need to wait for it to get tacky and it lasts all day. I hope this will make my false lash application a lot easier!

I ended up doing Hulalis makeup a little more dramatic than I did during our 'practice night' the week before. I think it came out better than before. She's did such a good job at playing the part of Ursula!

Makeup with Friends ~ Ursula night..

This thursday my friends are throwing a 'Disney' themed party for another friend who's going to do an internship at Disney World (soooo jealous!!).

Hulali wanted to be Ursula but couldn't quite figure out how to do the makeup so she asked if I could come over and play around. We had a fun makeup night and here's what I came up with...

She didn't want the eyebrows to be too dramatic, so instead we agreed to just make them semi-dramatic and in photos she would lift here eyebrows to make them more extreme. Then she didn't want to paint her whole face purple so I told her that we could just do purple on the cheeks instead. Overall, I think it came out pretty good for a first run. I'm still tryna figure out how to cover up her eyebrows better... any suggestions?

I ended up only doing half her face because I just wanted to play around first and see how it would turn out (i honestly had no idea what I was doing).

She liked it sooooo much that I decided to do a more natural look on the other side just for fun and here's what it looked liked..

Hulali as Ariel

It was sort of like she was half Ariel and half Ursula. It was so funny to watch her act the two parts out because she really got into character.

All in all I think it came out ok. I have a few ideas on how to make it look a little better. Her eyebrows were smudging cause I only used an eyeshadow, so I'm gonna use a fluidline that night. Then I think I need a different purple color on her cheeks because that's not quite the right purple that Ursula is. Hopefully on Thursday it will all come together with her costume.

HAUL ~ MAC Turquatic Perfume :)

My favorite perfume from MAC is their ever so popular Turquatic Perfume...

I got it last year and fell in love from the beginning. A few months ago I heard it was being discontinued so I went to every store and counter I could think of to get a back up with no luck! :( One of the girls at the Ala Moana MAC store told me that they had just taken it off the shelf for now and would be bringing it back in August. That gave me a little bit of hope, but sometimes they say things that aren't right so I didn't want to get too excited. Then, I started to get scared that I would run out of the small bottle I had so I began to ration my bottle. I would only use it for special occasions or when I was going out and had to look really nice (which is pretty rare).

Fast forward to this past wednesday...

I was walking around Ala Moana Mall and my friend that was with me told me to go check the MAC store to see if they had my perfume. I didn't even realize that it was August and I was surprised that he even remembered me looking for it and telling him that it was going to come back in August. I knew it was only the first week of August and it would've been a slim chance that they would even have it out at the very beginning of the month. I also didn't see anything on any of the makeup websites I frequent about this perfume coming out but since I live so far away from any MAC store I decided to just go and look...

And straight ahead of me I saw a gorgeous little display with the perfume on it... :)

Not only did they bring it back but they gave it an even prettier packaging!!! My face just lit up and even though I was trying to save money, I just had to grab me a bottle right then and there.. and I did! :)

Now the bottle just makes me love it even more! It's sooo much better than the old lame bottle, haha. They also had two sizes (one bigger and one smaller bottle) as well as a roller-ball version (which I have my eye on and am planning to get next!).

It was my day off from work today and spent it at the mall :)

Went to Ala Moana Mall (about an hour away from me) with a friend from work, Hulali, and stopped at MAC, Bath and Body Works and LUSH....

MAC

*15 pan palette - It was the OCD in me that needed another 15 pan palette so I can organize my eyeshadows my colors without them overlapping. This one is for my pinks :)

*Naked Lunch eyeshadow - Got this in pro pan form.. It is just another nice shimmery 'all over the lid' color that I've been wanting for a while now.

*Contrast eyeshadow - Got this in pro pan form as well and yet another eyeshadow that I've been wanting to pick up. I wanted a dark blue and I have 'deep truth' and 'prussian' but 'contrast' has been on my radar for a while now :)

*Concrete eyeshadow - I B2M'd (Back to MAC - recycling program for MAC) for this one and it's just a dark gray brown color. I'm trying to fill my 'matte brown' palette and thought this would be a perfect add. I don't have a brown like this..

*Scene eyeshadow - B2M'd for this one too. This one was kinda a spur of the moment decision. I never even thought about getting this one before, but i saw it, swatched it, and then just had to have it! It's more of a blueish gray that I'm excited to my collection.

Bath and Body Works

*Into the Wild Body Scrub - I bought one a month ago and fell in LOVE... I NEEDED more... I was told that the scent would be for the summer only so when we went to Ala Moana (the only mall in Hawaii with BBW) I knew I had to pick it up before it was discontinued.. I checked the 'Into the Wild' scent section and there were no body scrubs at all.. I was sad... I thought they didn't make it anymore... but I asked one of the workers, who asked another worker, who radioed another worker, who went in the back and found a whole box of them!! since the promo was "buy two get one free" or "buy three get two free" I decided to get three by buying two and getting the other for free. BUT miss Hulali had gotten one the last time we came a month ago and fell in love as well so she decided that she wanted one too... so we put it all together and did the "buy three get two free" where she bought one and I bought two and got two free!........... and YES it is that good that I needed to get me 4 bottles :)

*Mentha Lip Tints - these are actually for another friend who has been wanting them for a while. Like I said, Ala Moana is the only mall with BBW and since it's about an hour drive away from where we live I figured I'd get them for her since I was there anyways.

LUSH

*Herbalism cleanser - I got this in an online order.. I was running out of my other batch and needed a new one but didn't have time to drive out to town so i just ordered it online. This is my HG facial cleanser because it works really well with my oily skin and I will keep repurchasing it until they discontinue it *knock on wood!*

*Soak and Float solid shampoo bar - Ordered this online too.. This is great for when I want to have a squeaky clean scalp. I don't use it too often because the smell is so strong, but every now and then I use it.. especially when my scalp wants to be annoying!

*Dark Angels cleanser - I stopped by the LUSH store at Ala Moana to get this. This is my fav facial exfoliator because this too does wonders for my oily skin. I only use this once or twice a week because it's kinda harsh on the skin, but when you dry your face you definitely feel the difference! The only down side is that it's black so sometimes it can leave black bits on my shower floor if I don't wash it down after.

MAC:

When I first heard about the new summer surf collection from MAC I was super excited. The MAC sales associate told me about it first and when I saw pictures I was sold. I immediately wanted the Surf Baby! cheek powder. I also wanted to a few other things from the permanent things so I waited until the collection launched to place my order at MAC. I saw on some makeup website that the collection was up online but you had to look through the individual categories to find the items. Anyways this is what I got...

MAC Blot Powder Medium Dark - My other blot powder fell and shattered :( I used up whatever was left but I knew that I needed a new one especially for summer. I got the Dark one before and didn't quite like it for winter time so I opted to get the Medium Dark one this time. I like this one better because it doesn't make my skin any darker or any lighter.

Studio Finish Concealer NC42, NW30 - I've only been using the NARS concealer that I've had for what seems like forever. I heard good things about MAC Studio Finish concealer so I wanted to try them out. They're ok, I like them but no big difference from my NARS one. But I haven't really used them enough to say anything definite. I got NW30 for my undereye concealer but now I wish I went for NW25. I'm thinking of getting the pro-longwear concealer in NW25 next.

Sheer Loose Powder NC40 - I got this because I wanted something to set my foundation that wasn't full coverage powder. I really like this powder so far and it does just what I was hoping it would do.

Deep Damson Eyeshadow Pro Palette Refill - Saw this was only going to be on the site for a little while and have been wanting to get it. It's such a pretty wine color that is matte and a perfect add to my purple eyeshadow palettes.

Coffee Eye Pencil - Just been wanting a deep brown eye pencil as an alternative to black and so I picked this one up :)

Surf Baby! Cheek Powder - Now this is the reason why I even placed my order. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I had to look through the individual categories to find it. I was so happy when I saw that it was "in stock" because I knew that once the makeup world got word that it was on sale it would be gone before I could even think about buying it! So I immediately put it in my cart (along with the others that had been sitting there for weeks waiting to be ordered!) and checked out. I was so proud of myself for getting in on time to order it. Then I got the email saying that it was on backorder :( I didn't know what that meant and read somewhere on MakeupAlley that they only fill the order if they have it in stock. Then I thought for sure that I wasn't going to get it. I was super sad and ended up receiving the other things in the mail a couple days later, without the cheek powder. I checked at the different counters here and the stores but they were all gone. I figured that if it was meant to be, then I would get it, but if not then I would just have to live without it.......

So obviously I ended up getting it :) A week or so later I got an email saying that my cheek powder was being shipped and then two days later it was sitting on my bed!! :) So happy because this cheek powder is GORGEOUS!!! I love just looking at it and I don't even want to use it! haha...

SEPHORA:

I went to the mall (45 min. away from where I live) with my friend the other night and got two things from sephora..

Give Me Some Lash Deluxe Lash Sampler - I've been wanting to get this for a while and I have no idea what made me actually grab it and buy it that night but i'm glad I did. I really wanted to try three or four of these mascaras so it was a great way to try them out and see which ones I like and don't like.

I'm gonna try and do a review of each one as I wear them just so I can take picture and compare. I've already tried a couple but I forgot to take pictures so I'll take pics as I go along and post them.

Precision Sponge - I picked this up because I've had it before and used it to apply my foundation but then threw it away because it got dirty haha... So i picked up another one to try with my pro-longwear foundation to see how it applies.

TARGET:

Stopped by target the other day because I needed a refill of my favorite tinted moisturizer...

Sonia Kashuk Tinted Moisturizer Tan - This is seriously HG status for me. I didn't realize how much I loved it until one day I didn't have it. I ended up just using blot powder on my face and I saw the difference. This just does an amazing job of evening out my skin tone and looking really natural on my skin. When I saw I was running out I knew I needed to get a new one asap! This is perfect for summer because it is so light, natural and it has SPF!

Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge - I got the smaller sponge from Sephora but thought that this one might be better for foundation because it's bigger. So I picked this one up for my foundation and decided to use the smaller one from sephora for maybe concealer or something.

Haul ~ New goodies...

Just a couple of things I picked up over the last month or so and have been loving...

I saw these brushes at wal-mart a while back and have been wanting to pick them up. I finally decided to get them last month and I'm so glad i did. They are SUPER soft and have replaced my E.L.F studio brushes in my everyday makeup bag. I love that i can also use this with liquids which I have tried with my new pro-longwear foundation and I really liked the results. There is another brush like this with a different shape that i didn't pick up and i think i'm gonna pick it up next time I go to wal-mart. I can't believe I waited so long to get these!

This is a HUGE bottle of clear nail polish that can be used as a top coat, base coat or nail strengthener. I needed a new top coat for when I do my french manicure. I usually like to use the Essie 'To Dry For' top coat but now I can't find it anywhere. I saw this on the bottom shelf by the Essie polishes at wal-mart and for only $5 I figured I'd try it out. I LOVE this top coat. It makes my french manicures last longer, it dries quickly and actually feels like my Essie top coat. I'm glad I found this because I've been using it for the past month and it looks like I haven't used it at all!

Hawaii finally got its first Bath and Body Works which I was super excited to go check out. I've never actually been to one of their stores before but I have tired out the soaps, lotions and other stuff from there. I ended up picking up a bunch of foaming hand soaps, cause my family loves to use that in the bathroom and kitchen, and then I saw this lip tint. I've had one before from a friend and really loved it so I was super happy to see it again and picked it up. It looks just like clear gloss on me but i love the tingle and peppermint scent. I just keep this in my everyday bag for times when I need just a quick gloss.

I also picked this up from BBW because i kept hearing about it on different makeup sites. I use it for my cuticles and dry cracked heels and it seems to be ok. I don't see any amazing results from this and I don't particularly care for the scent but it's ok. I gave it to my mom because she has dry patches on her face and she seems to like it.

And last but not least, the newest edition to my collection is the WnW Comfort Zone palette. I'm so glad I finally found it. I picked up the purple one so I have two out of the three and i don't think that I'll be picking up the blue one. I have enough blue eyeshadows that I don't wear already, haha. These shadows are butter smooth and I haven't done a look with them yet but I'm excited to.

Tips & Tricks ~ Mascara...

so I'm back and have a bunch of things to post in my beauty journal, especially some new goodies I've picked up! :D

Here's a mascara tip that I came across one day and thought I'd post it. I've tried this trick and it WORKS!! haha I was really surprised at how well it worked for me. I didn't use any of the mascaras that she mentions in the video, the only mascara I use is my favorite CoverGirl Lashblast waterproof mascara. The last tip about closing your eyes and adding mascara to the tips is really what adds sooo much to my lashes. It will get clumpy though but that's why I love my Lashblast so much because the wand is perfect for getting rid of those clumps...

Anyways, try it and let me know what you think...

**Drugstore Haul**

Went to Walgreens to pick up some everyday essentials that I needed and ended up getting a little more than planned....

*Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette - Been wanting to try these 8-pan palettes from wet n wild since I love the 6-pan ones. After I bought it i swatched them and kinda wished that I didn't get it, oh well... Gonna play around with this one for a bit and we'll see how I'll end up liking it.

*Wet n Wild Brulee Single Eyeshadow - Gonna keep this in my everyday makeup bag to set my concealer I use for my brow. I love that it's matte and a travel friendly size :)

*Milani Black Eye Tech Liquid Eyeliner - Saw this on AlbaMayo's youtube channel and since I love these types of "marker" eyeliners I decided to pick me up one to try.

*Milani Black Infinite Liquid Eyeliner - The other one I had got all over the place. I love this for the staying power so I just had to get another one. I don't think I'll use this for everyday but it's great for days that I was my eyeliner to last.

*CoverGirl Black Waterproof Lashblast - Was in desperate need of a new one because my old one got really flakey. This is a staple for me because it's the only thing that separates my lashes and holds a curl.

*Revlon PhotoReady Translucent Pressed Powder - Thought it would be a nice setting powder but it sucks... too chunky and not even translucent...

*Revlon PhotoReady Compact/Concealer (001 Vanilla) - bought this because I was gonna do a friends makeup that was lighter than me and wanted a setting powder for her. But then realized it's not a powder and it's too light... booo!... wish i could return it :(

**First MAC Haul**

I stopped by Macy's and used my giftcard that I got from graduation to get these things... Just some more essentials that I needed to replace from MAC and the new foundation and lipstick that I've been waiting forever to try!

*Cleanse Off Oil - Love this stuff! Use it every night to take off my makeup. Nothings works better than this especially for my waterproof mascara. I also use it to clean my foundation and concealer brushes.

*Brush Cleaner - Use this to do a quick clean for my brushes. I mix this with water in a little spray bottle and then spray down my brushes after I use them to keep them somewhat clean until I can deep clean them with actual soap.

*Pro-Longwear Foundation - Heard so many good reviews on this, especially for oily skin, and have been dying to try it. I need something that will last on my super oily skin so I can wait to test it out and see how well it actually holds up.

*MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick (Impressive) - I heard that these are supposed to replace the old slimshines which were actually my favorite lipsticks. I tested this one out at the counter an had to have it :) can't wait to get more of these!

**Second MAC Haul**

I decided to go to the MAC store in my favorite mall so I could pick up some eyeshadow pans and other stuff..

*Chrome Yellow, Shale, Crystal, Tilt

*Chrome Yellow - I've been seeing so many people using a matte yellow color in tutorials and been wanting this one for a while now. I don't have anything like it and I can't wait to try it out because I have so many ideas in my head already.

*Shale - Another color I've been wanting for ages! I saw pixiwoo on youtube use this a couple of times and others as well. I don't know why I haven't gotten this until now since I love purples but I'm really excited to use this one too.

*Crystal - I wanted a really light purple since I didn't have one and this one was suggested to me by the guy at MAC. It's a duochrome so it's super pretty because it will show up differently depending on what base you decided to use. He showed me a swatch under a while and and black base and both were too pretty that I just could resist.

*Tilt - I don't know why I only saw this color now but I really love it because although it looks super dark in the picture it's actually the perfect light teal color. It's so hard to describe exactly how it looks but the swatch bellow is pretty true to color.

*Bare Again Sheen Supreme Lipstick

This is the second Sheen Supreme lipstick I decided to get. It's pretty close to the first one but I didn't mind since I loved the first one so much!

*Love Child Lipglass

This is Holy Grail status for me. I LOVE this lipglass. It's the perfect "my lips but better" lipglass for me and has the prettiest golden shimmer. I lost my other one that I had and I was counting down the days till I could buy and replacement!

*Impressive Sheen Supreme Lipstick

This is the picture of the first Sheen Supreme lipstick I bought, I decided to take a picture with the other one I got to kind of compare the two.

*Give Me Sun! Mineralized Skinfinish

I was going to check out when I saw these bronzers that caught my eye. I was told that these were a new addition even though I hadn't heard about any new collection with these. I really wanted to get the Gold Deposit one when the MAC salesman showed me this one. It has no shimmer in it and I thought it would be perfect for a summer bronzer. The color in the picture is a little lighter than what it actually is but there is a darker one too. I thought that one looked a little too orange for my likings so I opted to get this one. I've been using my Laguna bronzer from NARS like crazy and since it's just the smaller sized one, I've hit pan and I'm running out so I needed a replacement. Hopefully this one will be all that I'm hoping it to be :)

January Favorites...

So I've been MIA for a couple of weeks and wanted to just do some kind of blog post. I didn't realize that January is gone and it's February already so I decided to do a favorites post...

*CoverGirl Lashblast Waterproof - Only thing that will hold my curl and separate my lashes :D

*Sephora Advanced Lash Booster - Got as a sample in one of my sephora orders and i'm hooked! This combined with the lashblast gives me the false lashes look that i love...

*L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base - Use this everytime i do my makeup, creates a great smooth base for my makeup.

*MAC Mystery Eyeshadow - The only thing i'll use for my brows whether it be for an everyday simple face or a full face of makeup.

*Palladio Eye Ink - Use this is tons of my recent FOTD's cause it's soooo easy to create that perfect winged liner with. I like how it's small enough to fit in my makeup bag and it hasn't dried out even though i've had it for a couple of months now.

*NARS Laguna Bronzer - Bought the orgasm/laguna duo from sephora and have been using laguna everyday to do a nice subtle contour. I love how it gives my face some definition without looking too over done.

So i've been sick lately and haven't really worn eyeshadow since my eyes water when i have my dumb coughing fits which is really annoying but also the reason for my lack of posts... so just thought i'd throw in a pic of what i do on a day to day basis :D

New Years Resolution:

***Spend less money on makeup***

*Don't spend any money on makeup till I graduate in April :/

I own so much makeup, that it's time to pare down, spend less and get ONLY what I need (mascara, eyeliner, lip conditioner, etc...). I've decided that I will make it one of my main priorities to spend less money on makeup and, to be even more precise, spend NO money on makeup until I graduate in April of this year! So it's already hard to stick to that but I've managed. I just keep telling myself to use what I have and IF I run out, then I can replace it. I've been DYING to try the new MAC Pro-Longwear foundation but since I still have my Studio Sculpt and my Sonia Kashuk tinted moisturizer I've decided to stick to those until I absolutely need a new foundation and then I'll try the Pro-Longwear.

Anyways, so get around that new years resolutions (:D) I gathered up all my MAC empties and Back-to-Mac'd them. So here are the three eyeshadows I ended up choosing...

Foundation:
MAC Studio Sculpt NC42 - Love the way this gives me a full coverage look without looking too heavy

Concealer:
NARS concealer duo Custard/Ginger - It's pretty much the only concealer I own haha but i've hit pan on both sides so I'm looking forward to trying out the MAC studio finish concealer next year :D

Powder:
MUFE Duo Mat 209 - I didn't get this till the end of the year but it definitely was a standout product for me because i love the coverage and the staying power
MAC Blot Powder Dark - An essential product for me during the summer as I end up looking like a grease ball in the middle of the day
MAC MSFN - This is a great everyday powder that doesn't give too much coverage

Blush:
ELF Blush/Bronzer Duo - I used this a lot during October/November although i had it for a while, the bronzer and blush is perfect for everyday
MAC Light Over Dark Mineralized Blush - I used this like crazy during the first half of the year, just loved how it gave my face a nice glow, don't know why i stopped using it..??
NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo - Pretty similar to the ELF one for me, i just started using this but i like how this one is more compact (since i have the mini version) so it doesn't take up as much room in my makeup bag haha...

Bronzer:
Springshine Blush Ombre - Definitely the perfect Bronzer for me, It's my go to cheek item when i'm in a rush, gives me a nice bronzed look with a slight highlight on the cheek, LOVE :D

Highlight:
MAC MSFN Duo Highlight - This is the perfect highlighting shade for me

Eyeshadow:
WNW Vanity Palette - Raved about this in my last post and will continue to rave about it, I LOVE this palette!! I might do a separate post on this palette :D
MAC Sketch, Brule, Gleam, Solar White, Ochre Style, Soft Brown.... - There are too many to remember but i'm pretty sure i used these ones the most
MAC Mystery - Essential for my brows!

Eyeliner:
Palladio Eye Ink - This is just a mini version of the MAC penultimate liner, even though I used this for the first time in November, I'm sold! I hated how my penultimate liner dried up so quickly so this one lasts a lot longer, is cheaper and makes winging my liner so easy :D

Eyeshadow primer/base:
ARTDECO eye base - another item i didn't find till the end of the year but i'm in love, UDPP just wasn't working for me as my eyeshadows were still creasing but ARTDECO allowed my eyeshadow to stay put longer
MAC Paintpots - I use these over my eye base to help enhance the color of the shadows I'm gonna use, i have several in different shades so i usually use barestudy but will grab the others if i'm going for a specific color

Eyelash curler:
Shu Uyemura - The only eyelash curler i own and i love

Mascara:

CoverGirl LashBlast Waterproof- Has been my favorite for a while and i just seem to keep coming back to it no matter how many mascaras i try out

Lipstick:
MAC Freckletone - My very first MAC lipstick purchase and i'm in LOVE, this is the first time i started getting into nude lips and this is perfect for that look
WNW 902C - Another perfect nude for me but with a pink tone

Lipgloss:
MAC Love Child lipglass - Seriously my FAVORITE LIPGLOSS EVER!! haha, but it's just the perfect 'my lips but better' gloss
MAC Nymphette - Such a pretty gloss and I love the golden sheen it gives
MAC Oyster Girl - Love this to top off my nude lips

Nail polish:

OPI My Daddy's the King - I'm sure i raved about this polish before :D
French Manicure - I was really into french manicures this year because i finally got the hang of doing them haha...
Essie To Dry For Top Coat - My FAVORITE top coat!! It dries super fast, makes my nail polish last longer and doesn't get all thick and gooey like the Seche Vite did for me after a couple of months..

[Body]

Shower gel/soap:
Equate Moisturizing Body Wash - This is just the dupe for the Olay Quench Body Wash, it's cheaper and it works for me! I love the smell and the way it does moisturize my skin and leave it feeling nice a soft :D

Body lotion/cream:
Johnson & Johnson Melt Away Stress Soft Cream - I didn't really use body lotion very much this year (i know i'm so bad) but i didn't carry around a travel size of this lotion and liked it

Body exfoliator:
MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator - I used this for my body and my face

Hand cream:
I used the same cream for my hands that i use for my body :D

Lip balm/treatment:
MAC Lip Conditioner - raved about this in my summer faves post i think, but i like this lip conditioner a lot
Aquaphor - A cheaper alternative to the MAC lip conditioner that gets the job done

Perfume:

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue - LOVE the smell of this! I need to repurchase a bottle though cause i used mine up...
MAC Turquatic - Using this one now and I really like it!

[ Face ]

Cleanser:
LUSH Herbalism - I've tried quite a few of LUSH's cleansers and this ones worked the best for me :D

Toner/lotion:
LUSH Tea Tree Water/Breath of Fresh Air - I used both this year and they are ok, but i've stopped using toner this past month and i don't really see a difference

Moisturizer:
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion SPF15- I've been using this lotion for a while, and keep coming back to it, it helps with the breakouts
Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control - Use this at night and i like it because it's very light and makes my skin feel so soft and smooth after i put it on

Facial mask:
MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask - Pretty much the only mask i used all year, i like it but don't really love it :/

Exfoliator:
MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator - Use this for both body and face and it does a great job
BLINC Resurfastic Face - Just got this from Hautelook and i'm in Love! a great microdermabrasion and sooo easy to use!!

Makeup remover:

MAC Cleansing Oil - The only thing i use to take off my waterproof mascara, seriously cleans off everything in one simple step! Bought my first bottle this year and i'm almost out!
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes - Use this on my nights where i get home and am just tooo tired to get up and use the cleansing oil, great alternative but it doesn't remove the water proof mascara like my cleansing oil :D

Makeup Bag

The makeup bag I use is from MAC and it was apart of the MAC Trip collection they had a couple of years ago. The Trip collection was a travel exclusive and was sold at duty free stores at international airports. I ended up ordering this from an online site that i can't remember anymore and i'm sure it came with a set of brushes but i can't remember which ones either.

Everything I have in my makeup bag i can use to do a full face look. I mostly just do my brows and mascara and that's it but when i want a full face i have everything i need in my bag. The WNW palette is by far my FAVORITE palette this month, i've been using it sooo much and i love how i can get a natural soft look to a dramatic neutral look. For the price, the Vanity palette is definitely a steal! i recommend this palette to everyone :D

This is a typical FOTD i do with the products in my makeup bag. They were taken after a long day at work so that's why it doesn't look too good lol, but it looks better when it's fresh haha...
